Trade Cooperation The Purpose Design And Effects Of Preferential Trade Agreements

Milewicz, Karolina, James Hollway, Claire Peacock and Duncan Snidal. 2018. „Beyond Trade: The Broader Scope of the Non-Trade Agenda in Trade Agreements.“ Journal of Conflict Resolution, 62, 4, 743-773. Downloading Preferential trade agreements (PTAs) replication files have been in operation for more than two decades, with negotiations on a Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership and a Trans-Pacific Partnership only the tip of the iceberg. This volume addresses some of the most pressing issues related to the increase in these agreements. It contains chapters by leading political scientists, economists and jurists who advance our understanding of trade agreements theoretically and empirically. The main theme is that PTAs are very different in terms of design. The authors explain why we see these differences in design and if and how these differences are important in practice. Tools to understand the objectives and effects of the proposed EPZs will guide future research and inform practitioners and business experts of the progress made in the scientific study of EPZs.
